The girls just went down. Jesse has a late meeting tonight. I am going to add a bit here and then I must exercise before this night gets too late. I have been putting it off all day. The dehydrator is running with fruit leather and some crispy almonds I am trying. I also tried my hand at butter tonight, but after 45 minutes it is only a thick cream. I put it in the fridge and might work on it tomorrow, otherwise I guess it will become smoothie material. I just thought I would surprise Jesse with homemade butter. Alas, another day. What have we been up to? Well, in some ways it has been hectic. I have been picking up a few more shifts as Jesse makes the transition into his new career. He is still so excited about it and that is wonderful to see. We keep praying for more appointments and for him to learn as much as he can as soon as he can.
Saturday it got up to a balmy 38 and we had a light snow cover so I was out with the girls. I tried pulling them on the sled, but Dassah was not interested. She does not like to step on the snow, either. She is my summer girl. Her idea of winter is looking out the window and excitedly yelling, "SNOW!" I ended up pulling them on the road in the wagon. Too funny. After nap time Grace and I went out and I pulled her all over in the sled. We went through the orchards and over to the farm.
The girls are enjoying the tree. They want the lights on all the time. They help water it with ice cubes every couple of days. We read about Jesus and His birthday everyday. Our little play nativity set is under the tree. Dassah keeps calling the baby, Baby Moses!
The girls and I had a fun day, today! We called it pajama day and wore our pj's all day. I think the temp got up to 4 degrees and we have been hanging out at home since the big snow on Sunday. We watched Jonah, the movie, today. Played with play dough twice. I don't like to play with it. So messy, but the girls liked it. We just had a fun laid back day. I skipped out on most of the cleaning. We made a fund supper. Pasta with homemade pesto sauce and blueberry smoothies(Grace said we should just call it blueberry icecream b/c it tasted so good).
Sunday we braved the huge snow flakes and slippery roads for church. Our children presented A Simple Christmas. This was Grace's first time to sing with the children. She did such a wonderful job. She sang the whole time and was only slightly distracted by the little girl beside her who decided to sit down for part of the song. Children singing to the Lord is such a blessing.
Well, I thought I had more to write, but that is about it from this end. Good night.
