Gracie had been going through Abby withdrawal. And so Thursday Abby came over to play. They had a fun day of dress up and stories and whatever else they could imagine up. And Dassah was there following them wherever they went and that actually worked out better than I had anticipated. Dassah insisted on saying cheese with a nuk in her mouth all funky. Grace is wondering why??? And yes, Grace is wearing a sundress. She does not realize that it is -5 outside when when she is cozy inside. The girls also helped me make lunch. We had Christmas pizza and applesauce (with cranberry muffins for dessert, I tweaked that bread recipe from you, Tara, to make muffins). Alas, it was my first attempt at this pizza and went over quite well. The girls gobbled it up and did not blink that it was bright green and red while we were making it. I used a frozen bread dough that I I had pulled out of the freezer. After the girls had rolled it out with the rolling pin and stabbed it with their forks to their hearts content we threw the crust in the oven for 10 minutes. I roll my dough out on corn meal. I read that somewhere and it works great to prevent sticking. Then, I stuffed my food processor with spinach a good drizzle of olive oil, dried garlic(I was out of cloves), and my Mrs Dash basil and tomato seasoning. I didn't have any basil on hand so that is my go to seasoning. It is sooo good. Anyway. Run all those indgredients through the food processor. Pulled the crust out and smeared a thick layer on the crust. I had fresh salsa in the fridge and I lightly spread that on top. The girls sprinkled cheese and back into the oven for 12 minutes. It was so good. Not a strong spinach flavor at all. And it was made from improvised ingredients as I didn't have any meat or pizza sauce on hand. Yeah! A success. We will make it again and I will remember to take pictures. Maybe a photo would inspire you to give it a try. Happy weekend!

A Playdate And Christmas Pizza
