Life Tonight

The girls had the crazy giggles tonight. It was so fun. We walked to the park after naps and played. Then, Grace helped me make veggie pizza. After supper we played an assortment of made up games by Grace. It was a lovely and relaxing evening. The girls are now in bed. Jesse is watching the Eagles. He was hoping they would play tonight and so it is. When I am done here I will clock in my rebounding time and do some reading. I have so many books right now that I am reading. I can't keep up. And we are doing John Maxwell's book about the 21 laws of leadership for adult Sunday class. So, another to add to my list. A good thing, of course.

Last weekend my cousin, Brandi, got married. We were able to go to the wedding as Jesse's parents watched the girls. She got married in her parents garden. Lovely. It sprinkled a little bit, but no down pour.

We took the girls to the "Garden Park" for a picnic and some play time on Thursday evening. I tried to snatch a couple of pics of the girls, but it is tough to get them to look at me at the same time. Even with Jesse's help there were too many other good things to check out.
I will add some pics from my attempts.

I was suppose to work on Saturday, but was mandated to stay home. So, we picked out pumpkins and planted to 2 maple trees in our yard. Grace and Hadassah both helped. Grace was so excited.

We also put together Hadassah's new crib. The other one was recalled and we were able to replace it with a new one that converts quite nicely to a toddler bed, but I am not ready for that stage with her, yet.

We also met with a midwife one day last week. No, I am not expecting, but after getting touch with Dawn again and then having a lady from church talk to me about home birth, I had to check it out for myself. We met with Joy and she is great. She answered a lot of my questions. And gave me more to read and look into. She was so knowledgeable and professional. I always thought I would have my children in a hospital, but if the Lord should bless us with any more children we will definitely be considering this as an option.

Jesse is busy with making transitions in his work. When we have more details I will post. We are praying that the Lord will direct our path.

Oh, I finished reading Created To Be His Help Meet. I would recommend it to any wife. In fact I have already recommended it to some of you. Thanks, Dawn.

I felt like I had so much to write tonight, but I am ready to cuddle up with my hubby and read. Hope you all have a great week. Hopefully my pics are just about done downloading.

JLT Tuesday Tidbit

A Recipe For Today... My girls love graham sticks, but I am not too excited about the partially hydrogenated vegetable oil. And the ones in the health food section are a bit too pricey. So, here is an easy recipe and they are super yummy. This recipe is from the book Simply Natural Baby Food by Cathe Olson.

Cinnamon Graham Crackers

4 Tbs of coconut oil at room temperature(or butter, if you prefer)
4 Tbs honey or pure maple syrup
1 egg
2 cups whole wheat pastry flour(whole wheat works, too)
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp sea salt

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Beat oil and sweetener together until light and fluffy. Add egg and beat until smooth. In separate bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt together. Use low speed on mixer and beat flour mixture into wet mixture. The dough will be crumbly, but should hold together when pressed in your hand. If it is too dry, add a little water.

Press dough into baking sheet. Score into squares(I make mine the shape of the sticks at the store). Prick each square several times with a fork. Bake for 15 minutes or until edges are golden. Cool and break into pieces.

Enjoy!

My Dassah Baby Is 18 Months

Can you believe it? I can't. Time is flitting by. My little one is no longer quite so little. She had her 18 month appt. today. She is 31 1/2 inches tall and 24 pounds 4 ounces. Yeah! She is growing. Each day she adds words to her vocabulary. Right now she she likes to put her hands u pin the air and say, "Go?", for where did Daddy go, where did the blankie go, for everything. Her expressions are so cute. She, of course, tries to keep up with Grace and has all kinds of bumps and bruises from wiping out on everything. Her crib was recalled, so much to her dismay she has been sleeping in the pack n play. I keep thinking about moving her into a toddler bed as Gracie was in hers by this age, but I am not quite ready to let her grow up. She love to say "cheese" for the camera and I think she is going to be our comedian as she is quite the funny monkey even without too many words put together. She does say "all done" and "all gone". The evening that I am at work I call and say goodnight to the girls and she always has so much to say, but not one word can I understand. Too cute.

Hadassah refused to eat popsicles all summer. She turned them away. Too cold, I guess. But yesterday she decided they were yummy and ate a whole one by herself. Well, at least she ate what did not drip on her dress.

?????

I have a lovely sweet basil plant in my garden that has been healthy all summer. Does anyone know if I can transplant it into a container for the winter? Or is it a waste of my time?
