Pictures of Pictures

Okay, so the first pic is what I finally decided I wanted above our couch.  I kept rearranging until I thought even I had switched it too many times and then found this.  I like it.  Maybe I should have showed the couch.

I just zoomed in because I wanted you to see the photos of our 3 littles together.
Precious!

Here are a couple of Gabe's 6 month photos.  He smiled for just about all of them so it was tough to choose a favorite.  I know that they have that e-mail thing that you can try to send out all the photos taken, but these seemed easier.

Sledding!

Jesse took the girls sledding yesterday.  The first time!  Grace loved every minute of it.  Dassah did okay.  That is probably why we waited so long to take them sledding.  This is the first winter Dassah has enjoyed even stepping on snow.  Last winter when we went out she would try to find spots on the sidewalk where there was not any snow and then just stand there.  Gabe and I enjoyed the fun from the warmth of the van.  We had a good parking spot and could take in all the action!  Forgot my camera.  You will have to use your imagination!

Painting Pictures of Egypt

I was listening to this song last night and although it is an oldie, it is a good one.  One I can relate to.

By Sarah Groves...

Sara Groves \ Painting Pictures Of Egypt

I don’t want to leave here
I don’t want to stay
It feels like pinching to me either way
The places I long for the most
Are the places where I’ve been
They are calling after me like a long lost friend

It’s not about losing faith
It’s not about trust
It’s all about comfortable
When you move so much
The place I was wasn’t perfect
But I had found a way to live
It wasn’t milk or honey
But then neither is this

CHORUS:
I’ve been painting pictures of Egypt
Leaving out what it lacked
The future seems so hard
And I want to go back
But the places that used to fit me
Cannot hold the things I"ve learned
And those roads closed off to me
While my back was turned

The past is so tangible
I know it by heart
Familiar things are never easy to discard
I was dying for some freedom
But now I hesitate to go
Caught between the promise
And the things I know

BRIDGE:
If it comes too quick
I may not recognize it
Is that the reason behind all this time and sand?
If it comes too quick
I may not appreciate it
Is that the reason behind all this time and sand?

Dada

A big day for Gabe.  This morning while changing his diaper he said, "Dada" and then I said it and he said it again and has often today.  He is also saying, "Baba"  and really sounds like he is trying to make different sounds.  It is so cute.  I can see his first tooth trying to push through on the bottom.  Not quite there yet.  And he is getting a lot better at sitting up.  I still don't trust him as he forgets he is sitting after playing for a bit and tips right over, but all these little steps in one day.  After baths tonight he sat for such a long time.  I kept waiting for him to tip and he caught himself a couple of times.  Well, night is here.

6 months

Our little boy is 6 months old!  Where to begin?  He is such a precious little boy!  With the most kissable cheeks.  He smiles almost all the time.  Not often a frown or a cry from this little guy.  Just adorable!  He is growing up before our eyes.  He can roll all over the place now, but prefers the carpeted areas.  He is still wobbly on the sitting, but loves to be a part of the family at meal time and is eating some.  He likes to work at some finger foods and uses his little mesh feeder.  Just today he ate a little bowl of applesauce for Jesse like a pro.   He has never taken to a bottle well, but will now drink from a sippy.  He likes to be the one to hold onto it, though.  He loves books, all kinds.  Even the ones he should not be playing with.  He is ticklish and has such a wonderful laugh.  He is trying to scoot around a little bit and gets his butt up in the air sometimes.  He is a big guy...21 pounds now.  Lots of little rolls.  I don't know how long, but he is in 9-12 month clothing.  He has quite a bit of hair on top as you can see.  Oh, and he loves bouncing in his jumperoo and when you hold him for that matter.  He grunts and babbles all these boy kinds of sounds.  Not at all like the little cooing I was familiar with the girls.  He sleeps through the night.  Hooray!  I know there is so much more to share about this little guy, but that is all for now.
