Rag Curls and Thanksgiving Day

As you know, we have been reading the Little House On The Prairie books.  We just started On The Banks Of Plum Creek last night.  In one of the short picture books of Laura she talks about going to town and Ma tying her hair in rags so it will be curly the next day.  Well, without too much pleading the girls talked me into doing rag curls last night.  Not only do they look like precious little dolls, Gabe loved having them to look at.  Some great eye candy for baby.  Or maybe he was wondering what happened to their hair.  Dassah didn't want to take out the pretty "bows" this morning.

A lovely November

November has been quite lovely.  I felt like it rained almost every single day in October and we barely got to see some sunshine.  November has been mild for MN.  We have enjoyed our time over at the farm and walking through the orchard.  We have tried some new varieties of apples and enjoyed some old favorites.  Ginger gold was a new favorite this year.  I have been baking my fair share of apple crisp.  A favorite of Jesse's, but we all enjoy this treat.  This week I added cranberries to my usual crisp and how delightful.  Yummy!  My Jesse and Gracie both favor the original, so after the cranberry one was gone I made another.  I like to change things up a bit and alter recipes.   Grace and Jesse like things simple.  Like banana bread.  I like to add nuts or sometimes chocolate chips and they think the original version is best.  Well, all that said to encourage you to try your crisp with some cranberries.  It's a treat!

He does not like tummy time, but is doing better with Daddy's encouragement here.

Our neighbors gave us their old swing set that they no longer use.

The girls wanted to make wooden signs that said,

"Come over to our swing set."

We didn't have any wood lying around that would work so they made their signs on old cardboard boxes.  They were so excited.

It has been a little while since I posted.

Grace is especially enjoying them.
